Hancock Park is a residential neighborhood in the Mid-Wilshire district of Los Angeles. One of LA’s oldest neighborhoods, it is known for its elegant historical homes in quiet residential enclaves, as well as its busy retail districts. Hancock Park has been one of LA’s most desirable neighborhoods since it was established in the 1920s. It spans about two square miles with almost 2000 homes in a variety of architectural styles, reflecting the changing trends of previous and present eras.

At the center of Hancock Park lies North Larchmont Boulevard – a pedestrian-friendly street lined with shops, restaurants, and cafes that cater to both locals and visitors. More shopping and dining can be found at the famous Miracle Mile and The Grove, located just west of the neighborhood. The Larchmont Village Shopping District is within walking distance from most parts of Hancock Park, providing residents with a variety of dining options, designer boutiques, and other services.

Within Hancock Park, you’ll find historic landmarks such as the Wilshire Ebell Theater, a proscenium theater built in 1928, and Wilshire Country Club, which opened in 1919. The earliest homes in the neighborhood are also hailed for their historic and architectural significance. Excellently preserved over the years, these homes can mostly be found in an area that has been designated a Historic Preservation Overlay Zone.

Hancock Park is surrounded by famous LA attractions, including the La Brea Tar Pits and Museum, which consists of several tar pits filled with fossils dating back thousands of years. There are also numerous public sculptures on display throughout the park – perfect for exploring or taking pictures.
